After taking a long break from the blog and kitchen, I have started cooking again….All these days I have been pampered my mom-in-law’s yummy food and didn’t had a chance to cook anything. But after my mom-in-law left to India, I had to step into the kitchen and the first hurdle was finding the ingredients and the second thing I was new to the kitchen in the house. I had to call her couple of times to get well verse with the kitchen and ingredients and after few successful attempts in making the food I became confident enough to take over the kitchen.

Usually everyday we enjoy vegeterian meals but today I made combination of non-vegeterian & Vegeterian meals which is from our typical local region (Nalgonda). I am sending this thali (spread) meal to Srivalli’s Indian Thali Mela event. She is celebrating 5 years of blogging and wishing her many more such years ahead.

Our simple dinner thali ~ Palakura Pappu (Spinach Daal), Mutton Curry,Black Chick Pea Curry,Cauliflower & Peas fry,Orange Bellpepper Raita,Osirikaya & Mamidkaya Chutney (Goosberry & Mango Pickle),Bagara Annam (Fried Rice),Plain Rice & Roti and Kaju Barfi

In our simple dinner thali you will find:

    • Palakura Pappu (Spinach Daal)
    • Mutton Curry
    • Black Chick Pea Curry
    • Cauliflower & Peas fry
    • Orange Bellpepper Raita
    • Osirikaya & Mamidkaya Chutney (Goosberry & Mango Pickle)
    • Bagara Annam (Fried Rice)
    • Plain Rice & Roti
    • Kaju Barfi

Thought of sharing with you all my hubby dear’s favortie dish ~ Nalgonda special Mutton curry recipe which is one of the tastiest dishes in this thali. Its very easy to make and will be done in no time.

Spicy Mutton Curry

Spicy Mutton Curry

Ingredients :

  • 3 Lbs Goat Meat (small pieces)
  • 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tbsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Coconut powder
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 3 to 4 Curry Leaves
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1 cup Water
  • Cilantro leaves (Chopped for Garnish)
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tbsp Oil

Procedure :
1. In a bowl mix all the ingredients except onion and oil and marinate it for 30 minutes to one hour.
2. In a pressure cooker add oil. Once the oil gets really hot add curry leaves and onions fry till they become golden brown.
3. Now add the marinate mixture and let it cook for 5 minutes without lid.Add little water and close the lid of the pressure cooker and let it cook for about 3 to 4 whistles (depends on the meat) and then off the gas.
4.Let the pressure escape from the cooker and then open it. Check if the mutton is cooked thoroughly. If not switch on the gas and let it cook on medium flame till the mutton is cooked. You may add additional water if you want more gravy or if you need more water for the mutton to cook.Check for the salt content and add salt if required.
5.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve warm with Bhagara Annam (Fried Rice)
